My Cats ~ My Story

I had a beautiful miniature Shih-Tzu pup named Pookey. See how beautiful she is. I also had two teenage granddaughters that promised

to help me take care of her. Well needless to say.....most not all but a good many teenagers are not dependable. Pookey was not being bathed, brushed, or held very much, towards the end, not at all.

Let me back up a little and explain to you that I'm in a wheelchair and my hands are twisted up so that I can't pick things up or hold onto things. I have severe rheumatoid arthritis. I often say....I'm not disabled, my legs are.

Pookey seemed very lonely with not getting out and no one coming in very much. Shih-Tuz's need lots of love and people, the more the better, so I got a cat. I've seen pictures of cats and dogs sleeping together and playing with each other. Well was I ever wrong, Pookey got even worse, not eating and sleeping all day. I have a wonderful friend that along with her husband that loved Pookey.

They now have her, they adopted her, and she is in a big noisy busy family and she is happy and I am very pleased.

The name is "Little Girl", and I have part #1 and Part #2 so far and there is a Part #3 and #4 still to be posted about her.

What experiences I've had so far with her and two other cats.

I knew ahead of time that a cat would be much easier to take care of then a dog. For starters, I had to pick up my pup every night and put her on the bed.

My cats just jump up and down to and from the bed, counters and what ever else when ever they want. They wash themselves, keep themselves groomed, keep nails trimmed on the scratching post, and don't need to be taken out for walks, all of which I could never do for my pup. They jump up on my lap and have no problem getting me to pet them. If I don't do it right, they just start rubbing their heads up and down on my hands or my arm.

Hence, handicapped people can have cats for pets.

HI CAT LOVER,I LOVE YOUR STORY AND I CAN'T WAIT TO READ THE REST AND WHAT YOU HAVE PLAN TO SAY.YOUR A VERY STRONG PERSON,I CAN TELL.

I STAY HOME ALOT .MY LEGS DON'T WORK LIKE THEY USE TO YEARS AGO.I HAVE M.S AND MY BREATHING IS NOT THAT GREAT, LUNGS ARE NOT WORKING TO GOOD. I CAN'T STAND NOT MORE THEN 5 MINS,MY LEGS GIVE OUT ON ME..M.S. IS AFFECTING MY LGES,LUNG,AND MEMORY.AT TIMES I FORGET WHAT I WAS WRITING OR SPELL AND PUT THE WORDS TOGETHER.PLEASE FORGIVE ME.. I ALSO HAVE VERY BAD ARTHRITIS,MY LOWER BACK LEGS AND MY NECK,WITH GOD ON MY SIDE I'LL MAKE.
I LOVE MY FURBABIES THEY BRING ME SO MUCH HAPPINESS IN TO MY LIFE. I ALWAYS HAD DOGS,NOW THERE HARD TO TAKE CARE OF.I NEVER HAD A CAT OR LIKED CATS.MY HUSBAND FOUND KIKI AT 4 WEEKS OLD AND NOW I LOVE CATS. THERY ARE SO VERY SMART,CLEAN, I BELIEVE THEY UNDERSTAND ALOT OF WHAT WE TELL THEM.. I'M HOOKED FOR LIKE WITH MY FURRY BUDDIES.
