How Old Is Your Oldest?

We have 4 cats...our oldest is 14. She's had some health issues, but nothing we've not been able to cope with. Currently we're giving her a weekly B12 injection as she was found to be on the low side. Her energy level has perked up and she's eating much better.Two years ago I had to say goodbye to a 19 year old who I had since she was 8 weeks. See More

Remembering Scooter

Our handsome and lovable grey tuxedo Scooter passed away suddenly a year ago today. He died of congestive heart failure. We knew he had a heart murmur and he was on medication for it. He gave us so much love in the seven short years he graced our house. And even though he's gone to wait for us at the rainbow bridge, I sometimes feel that he's still lurking. We have still have 4 cats whom we love, but there will always be a special place in our hearts for Scooter. Miss you, buddy!See More

Profile Information

How many cats do you own?: 4

What is your favorite cat breed and why?: Domestic shorthairs. The one's that my family and I have allowed to grace our home have been very loving.

Tell us about the cats you love: names, ages, colors, etc.: Java is 14 years old and all black. Not a mean bone in her body. Welcomes any kitty that comes to live with us. Just a sweet girl. Currently suffers from a B12 deficiency so we're giving her weekly injections. Her activity level has increased and she's eating much better (she lost over 3 lbs. but has regained some of it...she was a big kitty at one time weighing over 15 lbs.).
Daisy is a year and a half and just full of love. She's a calico-tabby mix. Extremely friendly and also good with other cats.
Autumn and Mingus are almost 1 year. They are brother and sister. Autumn is a calico and Mingus is a apricot tiger. We've had them since 8 weeks and were welcomed into our home by the other kitties. Daisy is their big sister who loves to snuggle and play with them.

Kitten Mischief

Our two 5 month old kittens love to go into my daughter's room when she's at school and select plush toys (suitable size) from her vast collection. They then proceed to take them to different rooms in the house. They sometimes do this in the middle of the night as well. Do your kitties engage in this type of mischief?

What toy(s) do you cats enjoy playing with?

In our house it's the laser pointer. It usually wears out Daisy the 10 month old. The kittens, Autumn & Mingus, like to join in. Daisy is willing to share playtime with this toy, but she'd rather have undivided attention. Next up is anything with catnip in it for our older two, and twist-ties and pipecleaners for the kittens. What Do You Feed Your Kitties?

Just wondering what type of food (wet/dry/combination of both) as well as brand of cat food you feed your kitties. Our kitties get a combination although we try to feed them a wet diet as much as possible. Their favorite wet foods are Blue Sliced entrees, Wellness Pouches, and Avoderm.

At 4:15pm on February 21, 2011, Donna Horwood said…: Sorry about the loss of your Scooter...we have a Scooter too.....Blue has made quite a come back, even playing again..his age may have something to do with it, he is 10 months old....he is on Lasix as well as meds for his heart..our poor boy also has feline leukemia, luckily he hasn't shown any problems from that so far..all we can do is love him until the good Lord calls him home.
