best way to integrate cats?

We have a multi multi cat household. We have 27 of our babies. Then 2 months ago my father passed away. We inherited his 5 cats. We brought his cats to our house and put them in their own bedroom. We brought their litterbox, their blankets and baskets and their food and water dishes. I know it is scary for them to come out of their room and see all our babies. I have been encouraging them to come out and letting a few of the others in to visit. But after 2 months they still don't want to come… Continue

This is my beautiful Prince, also known as the wee black beastie. He is only 2 years old and he rules the roost! I found him as a little kitten at the town square of our little town. I had to put food inside a cat crate and lure him in and shut the door to catch him. But now he is one of the most loving cats ever. He sleeps with me at night. All curled up by my face. Whichever way I face he moves, so that he is sleeping right by my face. He is definitely the Alpha cat in our house. For those… Continue

All of my house cats are ex-ferals that I was patient with and loved. (except 2 that I recently aquired, they are purebred Oriental Short Hairs). I flew to NY to get them. (I live in Alabama). This was so nerve wrecking for me. I wanted them, but my sanctuary is all ferals, dump-offs, death row inmates (1 of my best friends is the vet, @ local shelter) & I have 2 babies that were left to die in a burning trailer at another sanctuary. (the lady who ran it is in jail now). It is a personal sanctuary, I fund everything myself, & do not adopt out anyone. (this is there forever home. (except 1, named Alice, whom my mom adopted. I 100% trust my mother). Some I will never pet, others are love muffins, its about them, not me. I dont want them stressed at all. They have an apartment (a building built on to my husbands new office building) a person could live there it is big enough. I have furniture in there, cat furniture, we have 12' ceilings so I made them a cat walk to play on...oh, and heating and A/C, of course. They have a cat door and aprrox. 1/3- 1/2 acre fenced in with a cat fence in system (found in cat fancy magazine). They really live the ultimate life, but I want it NO other way!!!

Jenifer, I am so-o-o sorry about the loss of one of your babies. I recently lost my boy, Summer, he was 16 1/2. I lost him in Aug. & Im still mourning.  God Bless you. I have 12 h.h, cats, 1 is totally deaf & blind, his name is Sunny (I call him Tom Thumb, because he is so little) He was born deaf & feral but came to my cat sanctuary as a baby. He went blind @ about 4 mos. of age & has been living at my house ever since. He is approx. 1 1/2 yrs. old & very silly. Just because he cant hear he forgets the rest of us can. He screams so loud!!! He is a spoiled little boy.
