I've been telling our kitties' stories little by little in the blog section. New here, so haven't quite figured out how everything works.

Over the past few years, cats have become an internet sensation, even for people who don't consider themselves cat people. I think there are several reasons for their rise to internet stardom. The first is the internet itself. Prior to the nearly universal accessability of the worldwide web, cats didn't really have a venue to reach a large audience and people who had never had cats or thought they didn't like cats had simply not been around them or had occasion to appreciate their unique…

From the time Tigger and Kismet joined the family, they pretty much had things their way. I discovered that Tigger likes to watch TV....at least when he's in the mood. Perhaps. But it took me more than a week to gain Tiny King's trust. After that, he was no different than any other domestic cat. He loved to play. Loved attention. And took food dishes away from the other cats when he was hungry. He never forgot his roots but he acclimated very well. He never asked to go out again but he would go when I let him. And he never went far.
A great story! I have caught and domesticated only one feral in my 30 years of owning cats. His name was Tiny King. He was named that because he was so small when I first saw him but he took over the alpha male position in my home over my other male cats and did it in only about a month (except for Little Tom). Tom was not a confrontational cat so was never a dominant male and didn't care to be. But he was the only one Tiny King never whipped in a fair fight. Tom was 23 lbs of sheer strength! But it wasn't from a lack of trying. LOL.
Welcome to Cat-Share! You might want to start by checking out the Group page for cat-related groups and topics you may be interested in. Joining a few groups is a great way to meet other cat lovers and to get started on Cat-Share.
Also, there are Videos to watch (some are hilarious!), Blogs to read (informative, entertaining), Photos to look at (funny, cute), and new friends to meet. If you have photos (or videos) of cats, please share them with us - I'd love to see photos of your cats!
PS - If you have a photo of a cat or yourself that you could use as your profile photo, please upload that, too. :)
