Fat Cat help
My cat Anna is now 24 pounds. Last week she had an urinary infection and took anitbotics she is better now. The vet says her weight is the cause. I am now feeding her 1/2c dry newmans own food everyday and 3oz wet food or more everyday. Anyone think this is enough? or not enought? Also i read online that the wet food can be frozen then the catsitter could put out fresh wet food then frozen so one would be eaten later. Vet only wants her to loose up to a pound a…

Micho, a big cat.
A little bit more than one year ago, my cat had kitties. She born them in the backyard of the house. Actually this cat mom was a feral cat from the block that for some reason started to like around my house, I guess she liked it somehow. As I started watching her around I started to feed her. I have an extreme weakness about feeding animals, specially cats and dogs.
She had had some kittens in the past but they were spread around the block. So I was expecting that she would have the…

Heroes
Wednesday (3/6/13), Sam my daughter and her bestie Amanda decided to go to Walmart. It has been pretty chilly here for the last few days and windy on top of that. Sam noticed a cardboard box sitting on the median in the parking lot. Her curiosity got the best of her and she went to the box and looked inside. Inside there were 3 kittens. Two boys and one little girl. The little girl was the only one still moving. Sam tried to revive the two little…

Chewing Problems
So, last year I decided not to put a Christmas tree up due to the fact that Milo was so small and I knew he would climb the tree. This year, I am still debating on whether or not to put it up for that same reason plus Milo has a bad habit of chewing on everything. And, yes he does like to chew on cords no matter how many times I have told him no, put that critter cord stuff around the cords he still chews! So, my fear is if I do put up a tree he will chew on the Christmas lights and…

Kitty with feeding tube?
It has been awhile since I've been here but I could use some help if anyone can....??? I would like to know if anyone knows of forums or other such groups for owners of kitties that have a feeding tube. My sweetheart Spooky ( white calico below) is pretty sick, has lost alot of weight and had a feeding tube placed last week - I am hopeful she will turn around soon but the last test results have not come in yet :(

As much as I loved the life we had and all the times we played,
I was so very tired and knew my time on earth would fade.
I saw a wondrous image then of a place that's trouble-free
Where all of us can meet again to spend…

flea meds for the strays...
i now have 3 strays living in my yard. we caught 2 and managed to get them to the no-kill animal shelter hoping they will be adopted. the 3 that are still there are so sweet...two of them lets us pet them and will eat treats out of our hands. the other....well, she is still very scared. anyway, while we are trying to figure out how to get the rest of them to the shelter (the town rules have changed...need the volunteer police involved, long story) i bought flea drops to put on all the…

My kitten, Sadie, is 10 months old, My freind rescued her and her sister at 2 1/2 months to 3 months old. I worked with both kittens from the time they were brought to my friends house. Both would attack you if you just looked at them. When I was done, they were both loving and playful kittens. My frind gave me Sadie for christmas...she was 4 months old. I have 2 other cats in my house and Sadie has blended well with one. The other one she stays away from and thats ok with both. My other 2…

Cat Animosity
I don't understand all of the anger and hostility aimed at cats! It would seem that there is a huge amount of the population that deems it socially acceptable to hurt, torture, or kill cats. Evidently they have no concept whatsoever of love because you can't be in the presence of a cat for very long before you are thinking of getting one yourself. So in the remote chance that a cat hater stumbles across this blog because he or she got tired of dragging their knuckles............remember…

catching a stray
we have 5 kittens that have taken up residence in my backyard. we've been feeding them for about 2 months hoping to gain their trust so we can take them to a shelter to be adopted. they still won't come by us even with food. they stop about 2 feet away. we noticed one kitten has eye problems. i think she/he cant see well....her/his eyes look terrible. especially the right one. it wouldn't surprise me if she/he were partially blind.
so, tonight we went out and bought a cage.…

SAD During Summer?
We cat people are sometimes very different than most people: We are often melancholic, musical, artistic, emotional, etc. Years ago I realized I was different than most people in ANOTHER way: bright sunny days, the kind of days that MOST people love, make me feel depressed! I wonder if anyone else here feels the same way? …

Cat Travel/Relocating
Many Thanks to All who weighed in on my "cat moving" question.
After much thought, we decided to use a Pet Relocation Service that came highly recommended by a neighbor.
Moving day/week will take place in August, so I will share how it all works out later on!

Hearts Open Wide for a Puss Named Pride
Hello Fellow Cat-Lovers at Cat-Share,

I've been eating a lot of chocolate the past few days. Not caring I'm allergic to it. Well today I was about to eat a chocolate candy bar and Amber knocked it onto the floor. Then she sat on it. I am convinced she somehow knows I'm allergic to chocolate. I tried to get her off of it but she scratched me. So I let her sit there. Then I said Okay I give up. I'll put it back. She got off of it. O.o. She is one smart cat.

No More Vet Visits! (??) :/
Well, I took Milo to the vet's Saturday for his yearly shots. It literally scared the crap right out of him. :( Broke my heart. Very disappointed in my vet. She claimed she cleaned him up real good but, that wasn't the case. I was very upset with this. Milo was so scared he growled and tried to attack even me! Once I got him home I tried my best to bathe him myself but, had to yell at the hubby to come help. Poor baby had poo starting to matte in his tail. I had to get him cleaned up. He was…

my Ebby Is in a Book
Last year I entered both of my kitties Elsa my female ginger manx and my male jet black maine coon kitty Ebby in a cute pet contest, and then I got an email saying that Ebby had won a spot in a book called "The Most Adorable Pets in America: American Photographic collections 2012 Edition. I was delighted, so I paid for a copy of the book, and to write something in the book about my Ebby. Then that was it, I didn't hear anything else…

Amber is showing her playful side. She keeps attacking my feet and hands. When she sleeps in my room I have to be careful or my feet and blankets get attacked. She has chosen my bed as her main spot to be at night. Right side by the wall. Then if i'm only just getting to sleep she head-buts my arm to wake me up to pet her. This morning she was being very silly. Amber jumped on my lap and batted at my computer screen. lol.
Amber already considers herself Queen Of The room belonging to…
