TO ANYONE WHO HAS LOST A PET
I lost my best girl of 14 years (Samantha-rott/lab) last February, then in March I lost my best buddy of 8 years (Simon-orange tabby). I still have days when I miss them both so much; Not only were they my best friends, they also were best friends and I really think sometimes that Simon died of a broken heart. To all of you who have lost your pet, my heart goes out to you and you are not alone in how your feel. I wanted to share the following poem with you.
Just this side of heaven is…

Till We Meet Again; My Sweet, Precious Midnight
On Monday, February 13, 2012 at 5 PM, my precious baby boy, Midnight, was put into his eternal rest. When I left for work that day, he was his normal self and was eating, drinking, and using his litter box just like usual. He was very perky and talkative just like he always was. Little did I know how drastically and tragically things would change just 8 hours later.
When I returned home, Midnight had a massive stroke and blood clots had moved down his body to where the big main artery…

good morning!
yesterday evening, i brought home "dot"...a little black kitten, about 4 months old. she was left in an abandoned house and needed a home. well, my "boo" isn't happy with her...or anyone for that fact. we've had boo for about 4 months...she was a stray that also needed a home. when we introduced them last night, all boo did was growl and hiss and her, and us!! before i brought home dot, boo would be all over me, loving me and sleeping with me. now i go to…

animal photography. your pet in the "best light"
Hello Folks! :) well we're all here. why? cause we love our cat's lol. i've been lucky enough to be into photography for more then 25 years now. so what is it that makes the difference between a picture and an image? lighting! it's that simple. i'm a studio guy so i'm used to controlling lighting for just about any kind of shoot. but it's hard to get a cat to sit where you want! (as i'm sure you already know) lol. so what is the best way…

i'm hoping somebody can help. boo, my little girl, was spayed this past thursday and i picked her up on friday (yesterday) to bring her home.
she hasn't urinated or had a bowel movement since. i put shredded newspaper in her box and even bought another box and added dust free littler in case she didn't like the paper. i put her near her boxes and she hisses and jumps out and goes to lay down in a chair. i've done some research and it said wait 72 hours. i know it's only been 48…

Rest In Peace My Velvet Paws
We had to put our cat Velvet to sleep on Sunday. She got sick about 3 weeks ago and her tests came back normal. They could not do a sonogram or x-ray because she was too sick. Nothing was working. She had likely been sick longer than it appeared since cats tend to hide illness very well and once they start showing signs it's usually too late. I had Velvet for 12 years. I thought I was going to lose her…

About 4 years ago, a neighbor was raided by Animal Control for cat hourding. They had 36+ cats and they were everywhere! They picked on my cats, in my own yard....well, you know the story. After all the dust settled and the cats were gone, I discovered that one of the kittens they had, escaped the cat police. This little kitty, barely weaned, made a home in the roof of a small pump house on the property we live on. This poor little girl was scared to death!!! No one could come near her…

Moscow Cat Circus/Theater
I am very sensitive to animal cruelty and I thought this was cruel until I saw the show live in Chicago. The cats seemed well and didn't seem to mind. They seemed happy. I mean, as far as I know, an unhappy cat would curl up in a corner and be defensive and wouldn't even think about doing tricks…

The Mystic Cat
"I have studied many philosophers and many cats. The wisdom of cats is infinitely superior."
Hippolyte Taine
The start of documented cat "cultus" begun when the Egyptians started identifying the lions that roamed around their land with the Sun, they believed that at sunset, Ra, the Sun God, would die and descend through the underworld in the West, to be born again in the East, at sunrise. During the night, however Ra was always in great danger,…

Tom Tom & Tucker
i love my cats and they have made me a member of their community - my 5 boys have all been neutered and are up to date on all vaccines and i keep them free from parasites with my vets help (who is a terrific doctor) - that being said i have a contraversal philosophy on how i keep my little community . . .
i believe my babies are with me because they want to be - they have a cat door and are allowed to come and go at will - i love to observe them in their element being a natural cat -…
