Good morning everyone. I hope everyone one had a wonderful Christmas. Mine was made more special as Hayley was given a new lease on life after last week when we were not sure she was going to make it. I am so happy to report that she is eating well and up an around after her surgery to fix her twisted intestines and remove a pearl like object. Hayley is 14 years young but in excellent shape other than that. This problem that came out of no where. I am sure she will heal up great. I am…

Hard to give away baby-cats!!!
I just gave away 2 of the 4 kittens I rescued a couple months ago. I am a mess over it, I am crying and I feel like I did the wrong thing. I hate to be this way but I am worried about the people that I gave them to, they just didnt seem like people I would trust to take care of them right. It sounds awful right.
I just cant stop thinking of every horrible thing that could happen to them. Im afraid that they will be thrown out in the cold or that they will go without food, or be…

Death Row Cat(s)
Hi Every One!
I am not sure if you have seen the three cat(s) that I posted the photos of them. That are on death row in Lancaster Animal Shelter in California. Lancaster is about 4 hours away from my location. I started trying to pull these three cat(s) from death row on Friday afternoon. Lancaster shelter is a nasty shelter that is into big time kill thru gas chambers. They only keep cat(s) they say on their site for 7 days and then kill them. I found out they only really keep…

Helping Your Cat Express Its Creativity Through Scratching
Humans are not the only creatures on Earth that yearn to be creative. Many animals sing songs, dance dances, and find other ways to express their innermost feelings. But how about our kitty companions?
Most cats enjoy scratching, there's no question about it. When they scratch, they are expressing themselves in ways that few, if any humans, are likely to understand. And indoor cats are no different. Just because a tree is not…

Cattitude
It's the middle of the afternoon on Christmas Day. I've just had a very hectic Christmas Eve and I returned home in the wee hours of the morning on Christmas Day. Midnight does not like me being away for too long in the evening and I knew I would be in trouble for being out for so long and so late. When I came home, Midnight greeted me by basically telling me off in cat language. He was very loud and very firm in his vocalizations with me and I knew he wasn't happy with me at all. I managed…

Book Title
Anyone who knows my name also knows I am the author of several cat care books that have won awards, a certified cat behaviorist and rehabilitate feral cats.
Well, I am working on a new book (several new books actually, but only one that's cat stories) and I could use your help in choosing a name for the book.
Even though editors always change the titles of my books, this book is the first that I have ever put out on my own without going through the "proper" channels. That…

Hi everyone. It has been a busy week kitty wise here. Hayley my beloved gray kitty was diagnosed with tonsillitis this week after not eating and vomiting. My other cat Sabrina just had this a week or so ago so the vet saw Hayley's swollen, red throat and thought this was the problem. Well by Friday she still would not eat or drink and was vomiting what little fluid I did get down her. Back to the vet we go and blood tests looked real good so the next thing to do was and x-ray. They…

A little about me
I got tired of not having cat-friendly Facebook Friends, so thought I would search for a cat group. My indoor cats are a big part of my life, and I love to feed those hungry strays, too. And I really don't (didn't) have anybody to talk about my cats to.
I hesitantly got a cat from Petsmart maybe 10 years ago, not even sure if it would work out or not. (They said I could bring him back if it didn't.) Well, I fell in LOVE with that little tuxedo boy! He became a good little friend,…

I have a few questions....
I have a 16yr old female cat and a 11 male cat. My friend rescued 2 feral kittens about a month ago and I am thinking of adopting 1 of them. She is planning on keeping the other one. They are sisters. I have been working with both kittens for a month. Both are friendly, happy healthy kittens about 4 months old. Niether one knows their names.
First, how hard is it going to be to separate them, and second, how hard is it going to be to intergrate her…

My Personnal Feelings
You can't change the world by saving one animal, but for that one animal, you change its world.
I believe in animal rights, and high among them is the right to the gentle stroke of a human hand.
Why is it legal to euth animals but illegal to kill the humans that surrender them. or hurt them

Why buy a cat when you can rescue one?
Do Not Buy Or Give A Kitten As A Christmas Present.
Think that adorable kitten in the pet-store window will make the perfect gift for someone you know?
Before you put a ribbon around Kitty's neck, consider this: Many pets given as gifts wind up abandoned or in shelters, because owners are unable or unwilling to care for them. Even if the recipient has been considering pet adoption, he or she should be the one making the decision about being the new parent of a fuzzy bundle of…
