It's the middle of the afternoon on Christmas Day. I've just had a very hectic Christmas Eve and I returned home in the wee hours of the morning on Christmas Day. Midnight does not like me being away for too long in the evening and I knew I would be in trouble for being out for so long and so late. When I came home, Midnight greeted me by basically telling me off in cat language. He was very loud and very firm in his vocalizations with me and I knew he wasn't happy with me at all. I managed to calm him down and we curled up together in bed and tried to get some sleep.

After a few hours sleep, I had to get up to take care of some things on Christmas Day. Midnight seemed confused and irritated because I was leaving again. I told him that I would be home in a few hours and then I'll give him his Christmas presents. He understands many words and "present" is one of them. He became very loving and happy at the thought of receiving presents. So, he allowed me to leave without a scene.

Upon returning home around 1 PM, I was extremely exhausted and all I wanted to do was take a nap. I thought it would be a great idea for me to curl up with Midnight and we could take a nice afternoon nap together. So, Midnight was already completely asleep on the bed. I tiptoed to the bed and gently laid down beside him. Well, he woke up and glared at me with a very angry look on his face. His ears were sideways and I knew I was in trouble. He started screaming at me (yes, I mean screaming). I know he was cussing me out in cat language. I just know it!!! This was one time that I was glad he did not know how to speak English.

I tried to calm him down. I said, "Midnight, Daddy is very tired and I really need to get a little sleep. Please let me lie down next to you so I can get some rest.". Again, he proceeded to scream at me and he was getting more and more agitated.

He got up and walked over to my face and then sat down. His tail was fiercely twitching back and forth. Boy, was he angry with me. He continued to look down at me with a very angry look on his face. Then, he took his paw and slapped me in the face!! I couldn't believe it!! I was stunned. Then, he slapped me in the face again!! Before I could get out of his way, he slapped me in the face again!!

Well, I finally got the hint that I better get up before he gets even more violent!! So, he got his way and I removed myself from the bed. He happily laid back down and resumed his beauty rest. I finally figured out that if you put a cat together with a bad attitude, you end with a "Cattitude"!! And boy, does Midnight have the market cornered on that!!!  Meow!!!

Ha, my little Raleigh used to simply turn his back to me; he would actually stand up and turn around and sit back down with his back facing me to show his disapproval!
