One of my new cats Chumlee (previously named at the spca/affectionately called Lil' princess by me), has learned how to play games.  She loves to get petted, get picked up and hugged, and even likes to get some kitty kisses from me on her little head.  However she doesn't like to have the affection prolonged and it is always on her terms. 

So the other day after working a lot of overtime I settled for some rest on the sofa.  My cats have free reign of the house with the only things off limits being the table and the kitchen counters.  So, Chumlee comes to me gets petted then walks away.  She stops, looks at me, then continues walking.  She jumps on the table looks at me then turns away and lays down. 

I get up pick her up and in a low pitch cutsey voice I tell her "No no no little princess not on the table".  I put her on the sofa beside me.  She gets up walks toward the table, looks at me then continues to the table and jumps on it again, looks at me and then lays down. 

Again I take her off the table and put her on the sofa.  We must've continued this cycle 6 or 7 times.  I think she thought this was a fun game.  Let's see how many times my human will pick me up, cuddle me, and then put me down.  I can only imagine how much fun this must've been for her.  I think I could almost see her smiling at me. 

Well, if the worst thing she ever does is train me to pick her up then that is alright with me.  Silly kitty.
