thanks everyone.  boo seems to be doing a lot better.  still a little tender in the back/hip area, but otherwise it's good.  she's playing, eating, running...doing all the kitty things kitties do.  just going to keep a VERY close eye on her and take it day by day.  i appreciate all the kind words!!

I hope that it isn't an abscess, my cat mysteriously got one about 4-5 months ago (they are caused by bacteria growing under a healing wound or splinter)

no, no hazards.  i think maybe it's her hip or her leg.  she's walking ok, jumping, playing, but when it comes to sitting in my lap on her left side or laying down on her left side, or even petting her back close to her tail, she growls and hisses like it might hurt.  i'm giving her one day, monitoring her and if it doesn't seem any better, i'm taking her to the vet.  i'm just wondering if..since the other night she was afraid of some fireworks, she went to hide and maybe tried to fit into a place that was a little too small and hurt herself.  either way, she'll go to the vet tomorrow if she's not better.  thank you for asking....  i'm overprotective as it is and it's nice to see others care about animals just as much!! :)

Are there any hazards around your home? Maybe an upset belly or something...? I hope you figure out what the problem is

im so upset!! she was laying on my lap earlier and seemed ok. any ideas what the problem could be?
